"What we have here is... failure to communicate."

So okay I am resisting the pull into the internet age with both heels planted firmly in the ground. Yet the relentless strain on the strand that is the worldwide web is a sticky tap with no rescue at hand. I am not a journal writer by habit; as a discipline it is wonderful, yet gathering my thoughts together is not something that comes easily to me. I'm too much of a restless spirit in that respect. The same kind of restless spirit I see in my firstborn, a bundle of kinetic frenzy that at times stagger the imagination. I imagine the nation's energy crunch would be solved if scientists were able to harness the forces of nature that is enveloped in the body of a large room full of toddlers.

What I'm trying to say in so few words is that the internet has finally given me a useful tool instead of a dead weight in the form of social networking sites such as Facebook, My Space and You Tube. I have signed into Facebook most recently and whomever fevered mind sprung into existence the algorithms that form the foundations of this oasis of sanity should receive the Nobel Prize. It does everything that I'd like to do if I had the time to do it all in one convenient place. Best yet, ultimate control over the content and who gets to come into or leave my world is at my fingertips, and not some entity wanting to separate me from the little money that I have. Except for small ads that buzz around the side of the page like flies waiting to feast on picnic leftovers there are little unwanted intrusions.

Those of you who are bloggers I want to be mindful of your need to communicate with us as missionaries, so I will endeavor as best as I can, to keep the flow of information coming:

PLEASE PRAY THIS DAY

  • For our financial support on a monthly basis to increase
  • For the scheduling of speaking engagements
  • For Sheila's pregnancy
  • For Elliot learning to have an open heart towards godliness
  • For my parents and their general health this winter
  • For the team remaining in Nairobi
